Dementia & Alzheimer's Disease

We Care About Finding Cures & Improving Treatments

We care about finding cures and better treatments for all forms of dementia including Alzheimer’s Disease. Every 67 seconds, someone in the U.S. develops Alzheimer’s. Science Care donors are helping medical researchers improve treatments to fight this prevalent and devastating disease. The medical community needs body donors to further research on Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

How Science Care Donors are Helping

  • Development of testing for earlier detection of Alzheimer’s disease through a blood test.
  • Support of general research to improve patient outcomes including the understanding and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Research conducted with Cerebrospinal Fluid which promises to help diagnose Alzheimer’s Disease early, approximately 5-10 years before the disease presents itself. Information gained from this research will hopefully lead to improved treatments and preventative measures that can be put in place long before the disease takes hold.

“I was interested in cremation as my final journey. I had never heard of whole body donation upon reading about it. It was like everything just fell into place. This is what I had been missing. It just puts me at peace. I’m able to help others but at the same time have my final wishes out and take the burden off of my family. Also, they would be informed by a letter of ways I had helped others. Then a year later to have a tree planted in my memory for my family. My family and I discussed this option for me. They said ultimately it was my decision and whatever I wanted they would support. So in the end, I’m finally at peace with my final wishes. It has just given me a calm peaceful feeling.” Linda W. – Nevada
