ACCME LogoThe purpose of Science Care's Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program is to provide high quality, state-of-the-art education to physicians and non-physician providers and to define Science Care as a premier organization for providing hands-on education and training. The Science Care Professional Education Program will support the larger mission of Science Care to honor the whole body donor's gift to the greatest extent possible through state-of-the-art CME activities that improve knowledge, competence, performance or patient outcomes.

Educational content includes, but is not limited to, evidence-based and up-to-date clinical information on procedures in critical care, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, cardiac, genitourinary or orthopedic areas. Other activity areas will also be pursued based on a documented educational need or identified practice gaps. The objectives of activities are expressed in measurable outcomes and link the needs to the desired results. Courses offered will focus on interactive education including a hands-on experience in human tissue labs along with lectures and informal discussions.

Science Care's CME courses target specialists, primary care physicians and non-physician providers who desire to gain competence or improve performance.

Science Care will sponsor or jointly sponsor various types of CME activities. CME activity formats include: live seminars; interactive sessions, hands-on labs, web-based modules and enduring materials.

The expected results of Science Care's CME program are improved physician competence or performance based on identified professional practice gaps and documented needs. Multiple methods will be used to evaluate our effectiveness, such as pre and/or post testing and self reported or observed changes in competence. Educational outcomes will be used to evaluate our progress meeting the mission of Science Care's CME department and towards our ultimate goal to improve patient health.
