Supports Advanced Surgical Training, Medical Research, and Education
DENVER - Science Care Anatomical, Inc. announces service in Denver to better benefit residents in Colorado. Its first Western location began in Phoenix, Arizona in June, 2000. Science Care, a facilitator between ordinary people and the medical community, seeks whole-body donations to advance medical research and education.
Science Care provides a way for individuals to contribute to medical research and to the training of new doctors. In some cases, donors directly help find a cure for their own disease. Science Care supports mainstream studies, with emphasis on cancer-genome and neurological research, including searching for cures for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
Science Care’s donor services, including cremation after whole-body donation, are free of charge. In addition, Science Care will arrange for the donor’s family to receive a general summary of use, so that they may know the benefits of the donation.
"This type of donation is a lasting memorial to the deceased and benefits the living," said Jim Rogers, Science Care’s President. "Our ethics, full disclosure and informed consent are our stock in trade. We honor and respect every donation.
"Science Care’s Phoenix location is accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks for the procurement and distribution of non transplantable organs, tissues and the whole body for medical research and education.
