History

Founded in 2000, Science Care is the leading body donation authority in the world, and we set the industry standard that families have come to trust. Our commitment to the highest levels of safety and quality includes lobbying for responsible non-transplant tissue banking, meeting or exceeding all OSHA standards, and safe blood testing.

As one of the pioneers in the field, Science Care has helped transform body donation to science, from an alternative notion into a responsible choice. Now, individuals and loved ones who wish to make such a gift can do so with genuine peace of mind. With donation centers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and soon Texas, as well as the ability to accept donations in up to 46 states, Science Care serves donors across the country. Science Care continues to grow and lead the industry in quality and service excellence.

Science Care is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona and currently has lab locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and launching soon in Texas.

Purpose

Our goal at Science Care is to honor, respect, and maximize the gift of each donation. We link donors who choose to donate their body to science with qualified medical researchers and educators. We get the honor of seeing the full circle of donation and the impact it can have on current and future generations.

Sustainability

Science Care has always been committed to the highest level of ethics. We are committed to doing things right, and our program’s foundation is our culture of respect for our donors, donor families, our employees and the healthcare workers we work closely with. In an effort to reduce waste, Science Care will use utilize a minimum of 90% recyclable packaging materials for company shipments.

Save for retirement with our 401(k) plan with pre-tax contributions. Science Care matches 100% of employee contributions up to 3%, and 50% of employee contributions for the next 2%.

Safety & Compliance

Safety is a central thread of our work at Science Care. We host monthly safety meetings at each facility, monthly safety trainings, and daily refresher meetings focused on specific safety topics such as suturing safety, lifting safety and radiation safety, among others. Monthly safety trainings are required for all lab employees and feature a wide variety of formats and subject matter to ensure that safety is at the forefront of our workplace.
It’s vital that all employees understand and adhere to our high standards. Our facilities are controlled by badge-access and each facility has security protocol in place. From the moment a donor enters our care, our staff carefully thoroughly tracks the process until remains are returned to the loved ones.

Ongoing Training & Quality

To ensure all Science Care employees understand and adhere to the high standards defined by Science Care and the AATB, all employees complete comprehensive training on company policies, procedures, and standards.
Quality is the responsibility of every employee and all quality systems will be continuously evaluated through a comprehensive audit program designed to detect, correct and ultimately prevent problems from occurring or re-occurring.

In an effort to support a healthy workforce, Science Care covers the cost of independent coaching through Health EZ for each employee for the following areas: Smoking cessation, weight loss, nutrition support, diabetes, fitness, financial counseling, stress management, and mental health support.
