Tribute

Andrea “Andi” was a remarkable woman whose strength, spirit, and determination made her the foundation of our family. She was not only the matriarch who held us together but also a trailblazer who achieved extraordinary things for a woman of her generation. Her resilience, courage, and ability to break barriers inspired everyone who knew her. Andi served her community in many roles that reflected her versatility and courage. She worked as both a police officer and a paramedic, dedicating herself to protecting and caring for others in times of need. She also gave back in quiet but powerful ways, including donating blood regularly to help those in need. Later, she built a career in the casino industry, rising to the position of pit boss and earning respect in a field traditionally dominated by men. Born in Pennsylvania alongside her sisters, Joyce and Cyndi, Andi faced challenges early on that shaped her independence and perseverance. She carried those lessons with her as she built her life in New Jersey, raising her children. She was a proud mother of three: her son Billy, who passed in 2021 and is remembered through his sons—Chris, Nick, and Sean—and their children; her daughter Sherri, with whom she shared a close but complex relationship and many years together in both New Jersey and Florida; and her youngest son, Scotty, who remained in New Jersey and shared a lifelong bond with her. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was particularly close to Tyler and Jamee, who grew up in her home and carried her lessons forward. Inspired by his grandmother’s courage and service, Tyler now proudly serves as a police officer. Andi also adored Tyler’s daughter, her great-granddaughter, Adilynn Rose, whose joy and laughter brightened her later years. More than a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Andi was a role model. To Jamee, especially, she was a guiding force—an example of independence, resilience, and strength. Andi loved the Florida sun, traveling—especially cruising—and cherished her nutcracker collection, which became a treasured family tradition during the holidays. She was also a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, never missing a chance to cheer on her team. She often reminded her family, “This too shall pass,” words that brought comfort in difficult times and perspective during life’s challenges. Even in death, Andi gave of herself. By donating her body to science, she ensured her legacy of service and generosity would continue, advancing knowledge, education, and healing. Andrea “Andi” will always be remembered as a trailblazer, an inspiration, and the backbone of her family. Her love, wisdom, and example will guide us forever, and her impact—on her family, her community, and through her final gift—will never be forgotten.
