Mom was a kind and gentle person, and always thinking of others before herself. She was loved by all who knew her. Growing up, she was my best friend. Mom was a hard worker, especially around the house, and always made work fun. In summer, she did a lot of canning. If we didn't grow the fruit, we went to orchards to pick our own. Dad and I would peel and slice the fruit while Mom packed jars and canned them. We were always making apple sauce from our own trees, seeing as apple sauce was a main staple at the dinner table. As a teenager, Mom and I looked like sisters, went everywhere together, and even dressed alike. I was an only child, but my parents gave me the best education, sending me to private Catholic schools from grade 1 through 12. When I was in grade school, Mom became a convert to the Catholic faith while teaching me my lessons. Mom handled the finances and really knew how to stretch a dollar and pinch pennies. My parents always made sure we went on vacation every year to the New Jersey shore. Mom and Dad gave me the best life a child could want, and they always spent a lot of time with me. Mom made everything in life fun. She is greatly loved and missed. The world is not the same without her.
