Tribute

I lost my most precious momma today…while the heart is heavy, she is at peace. Miss u already & will every day. …………………………………………………….. Barbara Fay peacefully passed away on May 14, 2024. She is survived by her four children; MJ, Jason, Emily, and Dawn, her grandchildren; Ben, Eli, Chuck, and little Emily and her great-grandson, Logan. She was close to her sister-in-law Lorraine, nephews Micheal, and Brandon, and three lovely girls. Barbara was a founding member of the Genesee co-op in Rochester, New York. She loved the theater, writing, and had a skillful flair for technology, and was known as techno Mama to many. She even sold early Xerox machines and personal computers. She was always up for learning something new. Barbara was one of the first residents to move into the Long Beach Senior Arts colony, and shortly after founded the Readers Theater Group and produced several productions performed by other theater-loving residents. She instilled confidence in everyone she worked with and was also a contributing columnist to the monthly newsletter. She later moved to the American Gold Star Manor senior community, where she made many close friends and founded the Readers Theatre there. Barbara had a wonderful knack for building community regardless of cultural barriers. She was loved by so many and will be missed by all who knew her.
