Billy Parker lived a life measured not only in years, but in miles traveled, stories told, lessons learned, and generations of family who will continue to carry his name and memory. Born in Mississippi in February 1944, Billy was a Leap Year baby raised in southeastern Mississippi. He developed a love for hunting, fishing, automobiles, and the open road—a road that would eventually become one of the defining parts of his life. Billy spent more than three decades as a commercial truck driver and owner-operator. What began with an opportunity to haul a load from New Orleans to New York grew into a career that carried him across the country. From hauling California strawberries to transporting dry goods from the East Coast, Billy logged more than 3.5 million miles behind the wheel. Those who knew Billy knew his personality could fill a room. He had what his family affectionately called the “gift of gab,” an easy smile, quick wit, and plenty of stories collected from a lifetime on the road. But Billy’s greatest legacy cannot be measured by miles. He was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His life was filled with experiences, challenges, laughter, relationships, and a family whose story continues through the generations that followed him. After retiring, Billy returned to his Mississippi roots. In September 2022, he began another chapter when he moved to Arizona to be closer to his daughter Kristina and family as his health needs increased. Those final years gave family an opportunity to reconnect, spend time together, provide care, and create new memories. Billy completed his final earthly journey on August 6, 2026, but even in death, he left something meaningful behind. Through becoming a Science Care donor, Billy gave one final gift—the gift of himself. His donation became an opportunity to contribute to medical education, research, and advancement that may benefit people he would never have the opportunity to meet. For a man who spent so much of his life traveling America's highways, we think of this as **Billy’s Final Ride**. His earthly miles are complete, but his story continues through his family, the memories of those who knew him, and a final contribution that may help future generations. **A life well lived. A legacy that continues. Always remembered.**
