Bruce Winter
Tribute
Bruce loved life, family & friends. He was busy & doing something every minute. He married his wife Jerrilyn in 1959 & they had one son Brian. In his youth he experienced working in the woods, went to WA & worked for Boeing before returning to work on a survey crew for Douglas County. He taught classes at the local college for a few years. He got his surveyor's license in 1976 & worked with a partner surveying weekends, etc. with a partner for 20 plus years. In 1979 he got his pilot's license. He retired from Commercial Title after 24 years. He loved to hunt, fish, golf & play tennis. He did a lot of remodeling on several houses in the Roseburg area & built some beautiful furniture. After retiring he became a "snowbird" for 7 years. Beside spending most of his time in AZ he & Jerri took a trip across the US in their motorhome with friends. In 2017 Bruce & Jerri bought a home in AZ & resided there for 10 years before returning to OR. Upon he returning he immediately got a job at one of the local golf course where he worked up until a year before his passing. Bruce was a lifetime member & past master of the Laurel Masonic Lodge. He was active in the Optimist club, Elks & the Moose. He served on the board for the Housing Authority & was Chairman in 1999.
