Tribute

Carol was a very loving and giving person. She was also strong and independent. About 40 years ago, she and a friend decided to take a bus to Phoenix, Arizona, from Kansas. Having no money and not knowing anyone in town, she survived by staying at various homeless shelters. With this support, she was able to obtain gainful employment as a security guard at a major Phoenix hospital, and then was able to find an apartment and become totally self-sufficient. Her home was always open to others who found themselves homeless, and in this way, she helped many find jobs and independence. She was a cat lover and took many a stray into her loving home. She enjoyed cooking and wasn't afraid to try new recipes. And, every Fall she looked forward to cheering on her beloved Kansas City Chiefs! She was my baby sister and will be dearly missed. May her memory be eternal!
