Tribute

Carol Lyn Risner, known as “Lyn” to her friends and family, was born on April 10, 1961, in Orrville, Ohio. She grew up in Toledo, Ohio, and resided in Bakersfield, California for most of her adult life. Lyn passed away on December 4, 2022, in the home of her longtime friends Liz and Derek, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lyn was a loving “Mama” to Angela, Amber, and Adam, and a doting “Grammy” to Connor and David. Lyn had an unwavering love for not only her children and grandchildren, but for her siblings, nieces and nephews, and any other person that was part of her life as well. She loved music, animals, collectibles, and cooking a meal so good that it would warm your heart. She was a woman who had very little as far as possessions but would have given anything she did have to anyone who needed it. She was a generous woman full of kindness, humor, and charm. Lyn’s generosity and love for others will continue even now with the donation of her body to Science Care for medical research, to help improve the life of future generations, and leave a lasting legacy. The loss of Lyn is felt tremendously to all that knew and loved her, but she will live in our hearts forever.
