Born on June 25, 1938, in Cittanova, a beautiful town in the Calabria region of Italy, she embarked on a remarkable journey, touching the lives of those around her with her strength, and determination. She exemplified resilience and an unwavering spirit. In 1968, she made the courageous decision to leave her homeland and begin a new chapter in the United States, seeking better opportunities for herself and her loved ones. Throughout her working life, Caterina displayed immense dedication and versatility. She contributed her skills as a seamstress, and later as a bus driver. Her work ethic and commitment were admirable, always striving to provide for her family and forge her own path. Although English was not her first language, Caterina demonstrated her unwavering determination by attending adult education classes to further her education. She believed in the power of knowledge and personal growth, always striving to better herself. Her perseverance serves as an inspiration to us all, reminding us that it is never too late to pursue our dreams and achieve greatness. Caterina's generosity extended beyond her immediate circle, as she frequently donated to charitable causes. She was strongly religious and her caring nature and compassion for others touched the lives of those in need, leaving an indelible impact in her community. Her generosity will always be remembered. Caterina faced numerous challenges with grace throughout her life, battling both Alzheimer's and breast cancer. Beyond her accomplishments and contributions, Caterina will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family. As a devoted mother, she instilled values of resilience and determination in her children, her six grandchildren, and her two great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through each of them, carrying her spirit forward in their hearts and actions. In our memories, Caterina will forever be cherished as a beacon of strength and perseverance.
