Tribute

Catherine Mary ( Murphy) Body was born September 21, 1946, to a family of five boys. She was the first girl and her parents celebrated her arrival with champagne. She was forever after known as the champagne baby. Her early life was filled with ballet and tap lessons, frilly dresses, and long banana curls with enormous bows in her hair. After the arrival of four more sisters and a brother, she developed a desire to mother her younger siblings. She loved to bake and make candy and was generous in sharing these skills with her family and friends. She married Elmer Eugene ( Gene) Body on July 10, 1971. Together they used their talents in baking, cooking, and candy making to provide many wonderful treats and meals to family, friends, and neighbors. Catherine was also known for her sewing and quilting skills and made many beautiful quilts for her others. She spent her career working for Motorola, Siemens, and Intel which eventually took her to California where she lived until 2021. She contributed many hours there volunteering in her church and is remembered for her love for those grieving loss. Catherine died on February 13, 2023, peacefully after a long struggle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her husband Gene and is lovingly remembered by her Godchildren Sean Murphy and Monique Nowacki who will participate in her Memorial mass at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in California. She will be buried with her Husband Gene at the National Cemetery in Cave Creek, Arizona.
