Tribute

Charlotte Ann (Nelson) Sundin, 82, of Mesa, AZ, passed from this life into the presence of her Savior and Lord, on Sunday, March 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 11, 1941, in Jamestown, NY, to Axel Nelson and Lillie (Wilhelm) Nelson. During her teen years, her family moved to Wheaton, IL, where she graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1959 and went on to complete nursing training at Swedish Covenant Hospital, graduating in 1962. After graduation, she married William Dillon Sundin on June 16, 1962, and together they had four children: Scott, Julie, Sandy, and Chad. In 1978, the family moved to Mesa, Arizona. Char was preceded in death by her parents. Those who remain to carry on her memory are her husband of almost 62 years, Bill, her children, Scott (Kelly), Julie (Monty) Carson, Sandy (Jeff) Mc Earchern, and Chad (Jana), thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren (and one on the way), her sister, Sonya Peterson, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2024, at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, 1735 S. College Avenue, Tempe, Arizona. Char loved her kids and her grandkids with her whole heart, and it was a big heart that rarely ever met a stranger! Her home was always open, a refuge for the weary and the oppressed. We will miss you, mom!
