Daniel Wasinger
Tribute
Daniel was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. His love of art & design started from a young age. He was always mesmerized by nature & the visual ironies presented by it. He thought there was nothing so pure and powerful as nature & it was the influence behind all of his work. He received his BA in Art & BS in Design from Buffalo State University. Throughout his time in Buffalo, he held various positions in marketing, print design, consulting, sales training & website development all while expressing his love for theatre, photography, and the arts. Daniel was a member of the Buffalo Gay Men’s Chorus & of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. He was an incredibly talented artist with exhibitions at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, CEPA Gallery & Kenmore Artists’ Society Gallery in Buffalo. After years of snowy winters, he decided to relocate south in 2003 & moved to Florida where he fell in love with the sunshine, the people & the communities. He excelled in web development & design where he created print collateral & websites for a large cross-section of clients, nationally & internationally. He continued his dedication to the arts with exhibitions at the Museum of Art, ArtServe Gallery, Art Expressions Gallery & ArtFusion Galleries in Fort Lauderdale, Wilton Manors and Miami, Florida. In 2015 Daniel created Scarves for Charity where his artwork was transferred onto silk & sold to raise money for many organizations. Shortly after, he further shared his eye for design when he started Jewelry for Charity to also help organizations in need. Over the years Daniel held a variety of fundraising events, selling his fine artwork & jewelry to benefit a number of cancer charities. Equality, freedom, & social education were such important causes to him that he went on to develop The Equality Jewelry Collection to help instill pride, confidence, & reinforce the fact that love knows no boundaries, we should be free to love whomever we choose! In 2019, Daniel was an integral part of the Wilton Drive Improvement Project. He was asked to design the Mural located at 2000 Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors, Florida. This was the largest piece of artwork he had ever created. He was so proud to be a part of this project. Prior to his death in August 2025, he made arrangements to donate his body to Science Care. He wanted to help future generations through improved scientific research & education. Right up until his death Daniel was creating art and designing websites for clients all over the world. He was a creator, an innovator & an incredible person. He loved photography, fashion, movies, cooking, music, art & design. He was happiest when spending time with family & friends. He loved being an uncle, and his nieces & nephews just adored him. In a world that is saturated with social media & texting, Daniel always found time to call those that he loved. His phone calls had a way of making you feel special. His kindness, smile and boisterous laugh are missed by all who knew him.
