Tribute

My stepfather, Dennis (aka Smitty) Smith, to me, was an amazing man, and it was an honor to be called his daughter. Smitty had no biological children and came into my life when I was 12 years old, and married my mother and treated, protected, and loved me as his daughter all of my life. He was extremely kind and generous to all who knew him. Smitty had many friends wherever he went. Smitty lived most of his life in Maryland and Florida. Smitty wanted to donate his body to science and be able to continue sharing any part of his life here on this earth. Smitty worked as a carpenter most of his life. He rode motorcycles and enjoyed the water. He loved animals and people. He will be truly missed by all of his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace, and knowing that one day I will get to see him again and be with him settles my broken heart.
