Tribute

Ella was born in Virginia, where she had her own kennel named El-Jay Kennel. She worked as a nurse aide, too. When her first grandchild, Jackie Wayne, was born, she moved to Louisiana. She loved being around family. Ella was an animal lover with a green thumb. Her career in nursing, she said, contributed to her long life of 96 years and aided her decision to be a donor. Ella got to meet her great-great-grandkids. She loved nature and herbs. Ella’s plants just thrived. Ella had 8 kids of her own but was a mom to many more. Ella was very independent and had family stories to tell for days. She would often speak of her dad and her childhood years. In her 80’s she moved to Texas, where she had lived before. One of mom’s favorite sayings was goody goody. Ella was still independent at 96 and assisted in her own care. Ella said Visit me while I am here. Ella lived her last days with her Daughter Elizabeth. Ella was loving, kind, and had lots of friends who would visit her. Ella will be truly missed. Our Mawmaw, Ms.Mae.
