Frank was born in Detroit Michigan to Frank and Sophie Sypien. He attended Saint Hedwig‘s high school where he played football. Frank joined the Marine Corps when he was 17 and spent most of his enlisted time across seas. He married Sabina Pendrys in 1960 and they were married 63 years. They had five children: Kenneth, who died at birth; Kathleen, Karine, Kevin, and Joseph. Frank moved his family from Dearborn Heights, Michigan to Houghton Lake, Michigan in 1972 where he and Sandy owned the Motel Grand and the Hines Haus party store. Frank loved to swim, was an avid bowler, liked to golf, and loved live Keno. He and Sandy spent many days at the casinos and took many trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin. Frank ran the Knights of Columbus bingo in Houghton Lake for over 40 years. Frank and Sandy moved to Arizona in 2013, where they spent the last 10 years of their lives. Frank adored his seven grandchildren: Allyssa, Caitlin, Robert, Colleen, Molly, Thor, and Luke; and five great grandchildren: Emalyne, Benson, Isla, Lainie, and Zane.
