Tribute

Jerry was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He had two brothers from his mom and three sisters from his dad. He joined the Army at 17 years old at the insistence of his mother, since he did not want to go to school. He was in Korea for 1 1/2 years, where he discovered martial arts. Through the years, he earned a black belt in Taekwondo, and then he started Hwa Rang Do, the martial arts he discovered while in Korea. He earned a black belt and a half black sash. Total 45 years in martial arts. I met my Jerry at Calvary Chapel Downey, where we started our friendship, which turned into love. We were married 35 years, 9 months. He was my best friend whom I loved. From our first kiss to his last breath. I was with him in health battles these last two years. God answered his prayer that a heart attack would take him out before the cancer did. He will be missed by our daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by many people. He will never leave me, nor I him, because he left part of his heart with me and took part of my heart with him. Until we meet again, I love you, my Jerbear.
