Gilberto had been with his wife for 49 years, high school sweethearts. He met his wife, Cindy, in September of 1976 at Douglas High School. Gilberto lived his life with laughter, love, and family. His sense of humor was unique. His love of joking around made him special to everyone. He joined the USMC when he was 21 years old. He was proud and true to the USMC. His time in service took him across the globe, but his heart and soul were back home with his wife and sons. He was proud of his son's military service and the fact that they all went into the medical field. He cherished his friends and was the first one to help out when needed. He passed on February 19, 2026, surrounded by his wife, sons, nieces, granddaughters, and daughters-in-law. He loved him some wrestling, and he was the biggest fan of the LA Rams. He loved the day he went with his son to see the LA Rams vs AZ Cardinals. He wore his Rams jersey proudly. He loved taking walks and long drives, being in the fresh air. He is survived by his wife, Cindy, his sons Manuel Thomas, Bobby, and Xavier, 15 grandchildren, many friends, his brother David, and his sister, Mary. His mother, Romana, preceded him in passing. He will be missed. RIP, my love, until we meet again.
