Tribute

Gordon P. Toler, 84, of Yuma, AZ, died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Saturday, October 11, 2025, with his loving wife Bonnie at his side. His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, provided him relief from his multi-year battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and Gordon is now with his Savior and able to breathe fully once again. Gordon was born as one of a set of triplets on February 24, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri, to G. (George) Phelps and Esther Toler. His family moved to Idaho, where Gordon spent most of his time growing up in the Jerome and Boise areas. His young life included working on a farm and helping the family live a contented country life. With his triplet sisters, Gail and Gretchen, Gordon was in the first graduating class of Borah High School in Boise, ID. Later, he felt a call to be in the Christian ministry and enrolled at the Montana Institute of the Bible. While not completing the training, he used the knowledge gained through the rest of his life to teach others about his Savior. His career life included working as a data processor, data analyst, and team lead at Morrison-Knudsen and Albertsons (where he eventually retired). Gordon is survived by his wife, Bonnie Toler; sister, Gretchen Brenna-Pennington; children – Lori Grisham, Wendi Adams, and Steven Toler (Lori); grandchildren Diana Grisham, Benjamin Grisham, Nathan Grisham, Margaret Grisham, Joshua Adams, Heather Agee, and Rachel Quiroz; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; sisters – Shirley Bergum, Jackie Hendricks, Gail Klinchuch; and wife – Carole Guisti-Toler. Gordon will be remembered first for his love for Jesus, his sense of humor, his love of golf and bowling, and his love for his pets. At Gordon’s request, no public memorial services will be conducted. There will be a small graveside memorial for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Christian organization of your choice.
