A Dutch immigrant who came to this country as a kid and moved to the coastal city of Ahoski, North Carolina. She always thrived in nature and found the greatest joy in gardens, especially surrounded by animals. She taught me to grow things and care for those less fortunate. She was strong and soft at the same time.
