Tribute

Born June 6th, 1937 in Danville, IN. The 7th of 10 children; he was raised on music, faith, and hard work. Jack attended Indiana University for pre-med before joining the US Navy in 1958; serving as a hospital corpsman and operating room technician until his discharge in 1962. Jack married the love of his life in 1959 and spent 50 years by her side before she preceded him in death in 2010. Jack graduated from ASU in 1972, while also raising 4 small children. He retired from the US Treasury Department after 28 years of civil service in 1997. His admittedly biggest accomplishment was being the true definition of a family man and beyond a loving and devoted father to his 4 children: Clark, Kent, Dawn, and Nadine; he was an admired grandfather to 9 and an ever-youthful comedian and side-kick to 6 great-grandchildren. He maintained a deep bonded friendship with all of his siblings throughout their lives, and his loss is profound for his two surviving sisters. Jack lived life to the fullest and was humbled to be able to travel the world in retirement. He loved being fiercely independent and physically active for all of his life. He was dignified and loving and will be remembered by all who knew him for his sense of humor, unassuming sense of style and honor. Jack was always the first one to say “I Love You” and the last one to let go of a hug. His family and friends never doubted how much he loved them. He left us peacefully on February 29, 2024, with a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support that will forever be remembered by his family and all who were lucky enough to know him. Jack was a proud veteran and in lieu of any flowers, he would request that donations be made to any veteran support program.
