Tribute

Jack was a wonderful man--a good husband and father. He was a hard worker and loved his family. He was well known for his dry sense of humor. He would do anything for a friend in need. He grew up in Litchville, ND, and graduated from high school there. Jack joined the Army after graduation. Upon discharge, he settled in Valley City, ND, where he met and married Marcia in 1962. There are two daughters--Joni Scherer and Sue Pfaff. He retired from Sheyenne Care Center nursing home. He and Marcia became winter visitors to AZ in 2001 and full-timers in 2016. Jack took up wood carving and carved a lot of beautiful pieces. He also enjoyed golfing and once got a hole-in-one.
