Tribute

Mom, Tia Annie, Granny Annie - to us, these names are synonyms for love. She shaped our childhoods, introducing us to new and unique perspectives, from anime to old-school cartoons, comic books, golden oldies, and other cultures. She welcomed everyone with open arms, an open heart, and an open mind. Welcoming friends, and special interests, and creating new traditions that will forever remain in our core memories. She taught us to truly live life through the act of love - love for ourselves and reach and realize our true potential, love for each other - to be there to nurture, believe in, and lean on each other, love for our roots - our history, ancestors, and to continue to tell and build our legacies, stories, and create new traditions. She rescued both people and animals - from birds to countless cats, to skunks. Always helpful, always hopeful. Even when she had very little, she gave. Even when her body broke down, she was there for you. Forever young, a forever friend, a forever supporter, a granny, and a mother. From the silly faces she loved to make, to her off-key singing with headphones on, to her unwavering and unconditional capacity to love and love and love. We know she is still with us. And we were so lucky that she chose us to spend her time on earth with. We are so lucky to have her be our guardian angel. Fun, funny, quirky, unapologetically herself. The embodiment of LOVE ❤️
