Jerome Kaufman
Tribute
Jerry was a very happy person and was happiest when he could make others smile. He always had a joke or a story to tell, and his laughter was contagious. Throughout his life, he found joy in "fixing" things, often coming up with innovative solutions that amazed everyone around him. Jerry played tennis until his late 80s and loved teaching his friends to play in our community. We shared many wonderful experiences together. We delivered Meals on Wheels in both New York and Florida, and ushered in various theaters, where we met lifelong friends. Jerry was a beloved greeter at the Coral Springs theatre in Florida, where he welcomed guests with a smile and a joke, dressed in his formal attire, complete with a tuxedo and top hat. Jerry's love for travel took us around the world, creating unforgettable memories with friends and family. We camped with our children when they were young and later bought a country home where we spent summers and winter weekends. Jerry adored our lake house, and we continued to visit it until last year, enjoying the company of our grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and old friends. Our homes were always filled with laughter and celebration, as Jerry loved any excuse to gather people together. He had a special place in his heart for children, and with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, there was always a joyful get-together in our homes. In the home where we raised our children, Jerry designed and created a bedroom for each that reflected their unique personalities. His creativity and love for his family were evident in everything he did. Jerry's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. His kindness, humor, and love for life continue to inspire us every day. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will always be with us.
