Jerry Porter, passed away peacefully at home, after a long battle with cancer. His wife and daughter were holding his hands as he transitioned. Jerry was born in Ashland, Kentucky. He was a graduate of Ashland Senior High School and Findlay University. He was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. He went on to pursue a career in financial planning in Kentucky, Ohio, and Arizona. Jerry served in the US Army Reserves for 8 years. Jerry loved to travel, cook, and follow his favorite sports teams. His family is blessed with wonderful memories. Jerry’s life was one of love, dedication, faith and unwavering commitment to his family, friends, neighbors, and clients. He will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and friend. Jerry's memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family. Due to his giving nature, his body was donated to Science Care in the hopes of helping medical research.

In 1965, Jerry married his beloved wife, Marilyn, and together they raised daughter, Amy (Sean). He is also survived by grandson and best friend, Anthony.
