Joseph H. Miller was born on March 10, 1940, in Tucson, Arizona. He grew up on a farm in Aneta, North Dakota, and attended Concordia College, where he majored in physics and math. After completing his service in the Air Force, he joined Trans World Radio and helped establish their international radio station on the island of Bonaire in 1968. There, he met and married his wife, Edna Bush, in 1971. They had two daughters, Ruth and Lois. After 27 years in Bonaire, they moved to Eswatini, (formerly Swaziland) in Africa. They retired in 2002 and moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren. Joe is remembered for his deep faith, kind heart, his knack for fixing things, and his love of puns. He passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, with his beloved wife by his side.

Joe Miller is survived by his wife, Edna; daughters, Ruth Khalsa and Lois Malone; two grandchildren, James Khalsa and Kierally Malone; a brother and sister, Bill Miller and Janice Mills; as well as nieces and a nephew.
