Tribute

Judith “Lynne” Smallwood; July 25, 1943 – September 25, 2025; Judith “Lynne” Smallwood, age 82, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025. Born to Ed and Ann Fisher on July 25, 1943, Lynne lived a full and meaningful life dedicated to family, community, and service. After graduating from high school, Lynne pursued her passion for beauty and became a licensed beautician. She owned and operated a wig shop before returning to college later in life to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University. Lynne then went on to teach school for several years before finding her true calling in social work, where she devoted many years until retirement. Lynne was deeply involved with her community, especially through her volunteer work with Church Under the Bridge, where she lovingly helped feed the homeless. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends, often sharing laughter and good times at the casino. A visitation will be held on September 30, 2025, at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Cranfills Gap. In accordance with Lynne’s wishes, her body has been donated to science and will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Sunset Home or Hospice Sunset, P.O. Box 71, Clifton, TX 76634. Lynne’s warmth, kindness, laughter, and spunky personality will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Family would like to thank the staff of Sunset Home and Hospice Sunset for the care provided in Lynne’s last days. Honorary pallbearers: Taylor Payne, Spike Williams, Chris Bottlinger, Mark Price, Daniel Bottlinger, Kevin Sklark, and H.C. Tucker.
