Karl Menser, 70, of Macomb, IL, passed away on April 30, 2024. He was born on April 28, 1954, in Clinton, Illinois. Karl was a devoted husband to Wendy McNeil Menser for 43 years, a loving father to Timothy (Charlotta), Melanie (Shad), and Tiffany (Dallas Frank Davis), and a cherished grandfather to Jonas Davis. He was a dear friend to many, including Scotty "Scooter" Wilson, and his loyal furry companion, Walter. Karl was known for his generosity and kind heart. He never shied away from helping others and was always eager to lend a hand. He had a passion for working on cars and anything mechanical. Despite facing health challenges, including a battle with multiple sclerosis for nearly 40 years, diabetes, and cancer, Karl remained resilient and never lost his positive spirit. Karl continued to be generous after his death by donating his body to science. When he was diagnosed with MS in 1989 he started an MS support group in Hopkins County Kentucky. During those support meetings, he learned of the need for deeper research into this disease through tissue donation and made his wishes known then. After starting his career as a mechanic, Karl pursued his love for truck driving until health issues forced him to change paths. He then pursued a teaching degree and worked as a substitute teacher for many years. Karl's dedication to his work and his willingness to adapt to new challenges were truly admirable. In his free time, Karl enjoyed tinkering with vehicles, undertaking projects, and sharing his knowledge with others. He took great pride in his creations, including a unique Chevy pickup truck and the "Franken-van." His passion for mechanics extended beyond his own projects, as he was always willing to assist friends with their vehicles and endeavors. Karl was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, where he found solace and community. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he actively shared his beliefs with those around him. Details about Karl's ceremony will be announced at a later date. He is survived by his wife, children, grandson, and a host of relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Karl was preceded in death by his mother Margret Splieth Menser, Father David Dale Menser, and brother David Menser. Karl's strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.
