Kathryn Dopp
Tribute
Kathy was born in Des Moines, Iowa, raised in Minnesota, and later moved to San Diego with her family. She attended San Diego State University obtaining a degree in nursing as an RN and worked in the NICU and then as a Director of Nursing at the clinic until she retired from Kaiser Permanente. Kathryn loved animals and after retirement worked in the kitten nursery for the San Diego Humane Society in which she adopted kittens for her family members. There will be many pups and cats greeting her at heaven’s gates! She shared her love for animals throughout her life with her family and ensured all her children had fur babies as they grew up. Tessa, Cookies and Cream, and Smores miss her deeply. Kathryn loved taking care of people in her personal life and as a nurse. Everyone who knew her was touched by her kindness, thoughtfulness, and good nature. She would do anything possible to help people and go out of her way to help anyone who needed it. She donated her kidney to a friend who was in need and now has donated her remains to further research and help more people. Her love for travel was extensive and she shared many adventures with her family and friends. She loved international travel and taking luxury cruises. Her passion was her beautiful great-granddaughter who took her to swimming lessons, soccer, dance classes, and performances including being a stage grandma, gymnastics, horseback riding, and Girl Scouts. She kept busy taking care of her great granddaughters who brought her so much joy. She had a fierce love of reading and could always recommend a good book! She loved movies, theatre, concerts, trying new restaurants, playing Bunco with her friends, and going to bingo with her daughters. She was up for anything and loved to have fun, especially with the people she loved.
