Liz Pace - Lance possessed an extraordinary intellect and creative spirit. A gifted writer, photographer, and storyteller, he saw the world with uncommon depth, honesty, and wit. I will always be grateful to have shared part of life’s journey with him. May his words, images, and memory continue to inspire all who knew and loved him. Mark "Doc" Young - Lance Mazmanian was a friend for over 30 years. He was a wanderer, admirably chasing his dreams as a gifted writer, photographer, and artist. He made many sacrifices in pursuit of his calling and endured a difficult life marked by many disappointments. With the passion and courage to continue, he was an inspiration. Lance was as generous with his money when he had it as with his opinions, ideas, and stories. I enjoyed reading his screenplays and hearing about the success he anticipated. Hollywood luminaries read him. Somehow, nothing seemed to work out. In 2026, things were coming together for Lance. He must have been published 300 times in his final year. It was a pleasure to hear him speak with pride about the many online magazines that published his work. His last two years were spent creating a legacy. He really wanted to live. You did a fine job, Lance. Rest in Peace. Anthony DiMaria - Lance, I'd never imagined a time would come when I would share these words with you. Our times as lifelong friends from Vegas to LA, as artists, as collaborators, as Hollywood nightcrawlers- have come to an end...but only in the dust from where your soul departed. For those of us fortunate to know your talents and kinship- your flame will forever remain in our hearts and minds...just as your images and words remain in the ether. Love you, Brother. Gabe Horn - shadows trace the frame. Lance drifts through the silver screen; words call out his name. Shawn Hicks - Lance lived in a world of luminous shadows with prismatic reflections. He saw the fantastical beneath the mundane and lived as if he always had at least one foot planted there, partially out of phase with the rest of us. Photography, screenwriting, and poetry were his translators. I will miss our adventures. Allan Albaitis -We talked about The Veil. And now my friend is on the other side of it. We first met almost 40 years ago. Both drummers, we also shared interests in writing, photography, and art of all sorts. Many commonalities made for an easy, comfortable connection. He was a wellspring of intellect, creativity, and talent. Although we saw little of each other in his final years, we were in touch regularly, often several texts in one day as we solved the world’s problems and discerned the meaning of Life. My hope – my firm belief – is that the searching soul that is Lance Mazmanian has found the peace that surpasses all understanding beyond the Veil.
