Tribute

Our mom was a mother of four, a grandmother to eleven, and a loving wife. Being a mom and Grammy was not just a role she had; it was such a big part of who she was. She was proud of her family, and some of her happiest moments were spent with her children and grandchildren. Our family grew and changed over the years, but one thing that never changed was how much she loved all of us. Mom lived a life that took her to many different places. She lived in Japan and Hawaii and spent time in several states along the West Coast before eventually settling in Nevada. She saw and experienced a lot throughout her life, but no matter where she was or what was going on, family was always at the center of it. One of the ways Mom showed her love was through food. She loved to cook, and her lumpia was something everyone looked forward to. Food had a way of bringing everyone together, and Mom had a way of making those simple moments feel special. She also loved to bake, especially cheesecakes. You could ask her for almost any flavor, and somehow, she could make it. But her lemon blueberry cheesecake was the one everyone loved the most. Looking back, it is the simple things that mean so much now. The homemade meals, the cheesecakes, everyone sitting together, and the time we had with her. Those are the moments we will remember and hold onto. There was also never a shortage of stories when Mom was around. She loved to talk, and she had a lifetime of stories to tell. Some of them we probably heard more than once, but we would give anything to hear them again now. Her stories, her voice, her laughter, the family gatherings, the meals, and all of those everyday moments are the pieces of her that we will carry with us. Mom’s legacy is not just in the places she lived or the things she did. It is in the family she built and the love she gave us. It is in her husband, her four children, and her eleven grandchildren. It is in the recipes we remember, the traditions we continue, the stories we tell, and the memories we share. She gave us something that can never be replaced. She gave us a lifetime of memories with her and with each other. We will miss having her here more than words can ever explain. There are so many moments we wish she could still be here for, and so many memories we wish we could still make with her. We wish she could be here for the holidays, the milestones, and all the big moments still to come, especially as her grandchildren grow up. That is the gift she leaves behind. And that is something we will carry with us, always.
