Tribute

Linda Louise Stewart, 78, of Boise, Idaho, passed away on July 9, 2025. She was born on May 30, 1947, in Los Angeles, California, to Carl and June Wallace. As the oldest of eight children, Linda’s life was shaped by early responsibility, working at the age of 16 to help support her family. After her parents' divorce, Linda made sure her siblings never lacked for love or support, often going to great lengths to bring them together, whether by taking them out for dinner and ice cream or offering them a sense of hope during difficult times. Her sister Loveina (Vinny) fondly recalls how Linda’s visits provided a beacon of light and reassurance. At 22, Linda lost her mother, an event that deepened her sense of responsibility for her younger siblings, all of whom she adored in their own special ways. Linda never missed an opportunity to share with pride the lives and accomplishments of her brothers and sisters. Linda’s greatest joy, however, was being a mother to her son, Christopher Todd Stewart. Born when Linda was 19, Christopher was the love of her life. She supported him in every way, telling cherished stories of his childhood, including one about the time she lost him for hours, only to find him fast asleep under a tree after a long search, which included police officers, which she recounts with humor to this day. On September 21, 1974, Linda married George Clinton Stewart. This union brought with it the addition of a son, Daniel George Stewart, whom Linda embraced as her own. Together, Linda and George built a life filled with love and adventure, owning Larry's Fried Chicken in Huntington Beach, California, before moving to Meridian, Idaho, where they opened a ceramic shop. They later relocated to Twin Falls, Idaho, where they operated a 7-11 convenience store, dedicating countless hours to the business. Tragedy struck in 1985 when George passed away from cancer on the same day her brother Steven took his own life. Though Linda’s life became more challenging, she always rose above adversity, holding fast to her faith and her love for her family. Linda went on to live a vibrant, active life, becoming a pilot for Search and Rescue and working for 20 years as a blackjack dealer at Cactus Pete’s in Jackpot, Nevada. She also bartended, played on dart teams, and enjoyed cruising with her family. She endured the aftermath of two strokes but proved her resilience time and time again, always bouncing back stronger than before. Later in life, Linda moved to be closer to her sons, where she enjoyed weekly breakfasts with Daniel and drop-in visits with Christopher. She was always impeccably dressed, a symbol of her grace and attention to detail. Linda took her niece Rene to dialysis multiple times a week, volunteered throughout the valley, and shared her joy by calling out bingo at local events with her dear friend Madelyn. She also adored the women at Tops, where she worked hard to earn her "Queen" crown, a reflection of her determination.
