Tribute

Margaret was born in May, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Georgeanna and Spencer Corey. She married Carl F. Butler Sr. on June 9, 1956. Together, Marge and Carl had five children. She was blessed with 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren, and counting. She was an Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, a devoted friend to many, and a cherished member of her community. To Margaret family was everything, and she loved to host family gatherings. The more the merrier; Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and many, many birthdays were celebrated in her home. Summer-times were also a time for family. As many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters could be found in her home enjoying visits on any given day of the week. Everyone who entered her home was greeted with love, and there was no such thing as over staying a visit in Marge’s heart. There were always spare places to sleep in her home, and there was always an open invitation for family and friends to extend a visit into an overnight sleep over. There were many occasions that all the beds in her home were taken and overnight guests gladly slept on her living room floor. Margaret will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her and she will live on forever in our hearts. A celebration of life honoring Margaret will be held on October 20th, at 12:00 PM at Verde Groves Clubhouse, 4202 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa AZ. A light lunch will be provided, followed by a time of prayers and remembrances. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Shriners Hospitals for Children and Hospice of the Valley.
