Tribute

Mark was a man of great faith. He always took the time and told you about his Jesus and how Jesus had saved his life. And Jesus wanted to do the same for you. All you have to do is ask. And Mark would always be there to help you with any questions you might have. Mark was an excellent provider for his family. Mark had his priorities of life. His first love was God, his wife, his family, his friends, and his Rottweiler’s. Everyone who ever had a conversation with Mark, he would always tell them how much he loved his wife and about how proud he was of her. Mark was forced into retirement from Norfolk Southern Railroad, working as an electrician for over fifteen years. Mark was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Bone Marrow Cancer in 2018, and 2019 he was on dialysis. Once Mark retired, if you saw Mark, Gayla, was always next to him. Mark and Gayla were married for thirty nine years. The decision was made early in their marriage, they really didn't want children. Their children were always Beautiful Rottweiler dogs. The dogs were their children. Mark and Gayla met in Nashville, Tennessee at church on a Thursday night meeting. About twenty nine days later they married. After several years of crossing the country from Marks employment as a welder and welder inspector, he was employed to build water tanks, pressure vessels, and nuclear containment systems. Mark later took a job with Bell South Communications in a management role settling in Chattanooga, Tennessee, 2002. They have been members of Rock Bridge Church Ringgold Georgia for several years. They were active in the church with a prayer group and a small group on Sunday night. Mark was always a true gentleman first. He was a very kind person, always willing to give his time or money to different causes in our community. Mark enjoyed helping out in church; his favorite charity was The Needy Child Fund.
