Mark R. Lundberg (known by some as “Magoo”) from North San Juan, California, passed away at home in the presence of family on July 8, 2023, after a lengthy illness of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He is survived by his sons Mark E. Lundberg of Winona, Minnesota, and Jeromy “Skip” Lundberg of Nevada City, California. He was born on September 21, 1951, to Maryann G. Amundson and Carl T. Lundberg and in Duluth, Minnesota. Mark joined the U.S. Army and served from 1971 through 1974 and is a veteran of the Republic of Vietnam Campaign. He was an Armor Recon Specialist – sharpshooter and a member of the 11th Armored Cavalry Reg. “Black Horse.” After his service, he studied drafting and welding in college. He was interested in both mechanics of drawing and welding but ultimately decided his interests were stronger in the creation of projects, serving his career as a highly regarded welder and machinest. His attention to detail and experience in drafting also served him very well throughout his life. He moved to North San Juan in 1992 with his son Jeromy. His interests were driving his Jeep and exploring the many back roads around North San Juan; camping; golfing; designing and building projects; and later had an avid interest in restoring antique pocket watches. He will be missed by his many his many family and friends. There will be no services.
