Tribute

I am Matthew's wife, Treena and I would like to tell you about my best friend, now my angel. Matthew was born in Liverpool, England, and moved to the states with me when we got married in 2012. He had a huge heart and wanted to help everyone. While living in the UK, he volunteered with Diabetes UK, traveling to their road shows and doing radio spots to help educate people about Diabetes. He also worked with the Alzheimers Association, a cause near and dear to his heart as his dad had Alzheimer's. Matthew continued his volunteer work in the states by becoming a member of the Little Creek Ladies Auxiliary and working at the Diabetes Expo. He wanted to help anyone that he could. He had a soft spot for our furbabies, DT, Lizzie, Teddy, Elvis, Gizmo, and Kent. I know that DT, Lizzie, and Teddy were waiting for him when he gained his wings and I can imagine the smile and tears as they reunited. He loved our babies so much and was heartbroken when Lizzie died a few months before him. She was his princess and they had a special bond. Matthew was a St. Helens Saints (rugby) fan and an Everton (football/soccer) fan. He always said he was born a Blue and was a Blue until he died. He spoke to his mom every day via video call. He tried to be the best son, husband, stepfather, and friend he could be. I asked our friends, that we call family if they would like to say something about Matthew, and below are their comments: Jared,-stepson "You are still not my dad lol. " This was a running joke in our home. My son called Matthew his 'stepdad type person' and Matthew called Jared his 'stepson type person'. Gerry and Rebecca loved him like a son. A young and kind gentleman. Lisa - That we loved Matt and he will be missed very much and we considered him family. Phalyn (she considered Matthew a second dad) - i love you matt, thank you for everything you have done for me. You impacted the lives of many people for the better. I know Matthew is always with me. He made an impact on my life and showed me what it was like to be loved like a Queen.
