Tribute

Michael L Wise, of Gainesville, FL, passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on September 13, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Michael was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend. He would never hesitate to give you the shirt off his back if you needed help and he carried this same mindset with him through death in the donation of his body to science. Michael was born November 1948 in Detroit, MI to Leonard and Alice Wise. His family relocated to Melbourne, FL in 1954. Shortly after high school at Eau Gallie High, he enlisted in the Marine Corp and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Michael worked for the United States Postal Service where he retired as an Operations Support Supervisor in 2010. Michael was an avid golfer and bowler. He loved all animals (especially his loyal dog Jake) and was the trusted family dog-sitter. Michael was also the family handyman as there was nothing he did not know how to build or fix. Michael loved reading and long walks with neighbors and friends. He was a diehard Miami Dolphins fan and enjoyed blogging about professional football. We will forever miss his trademark whistling and his special tagline "Holy Moly".
