We gather here today to remember and honor Micheal Brown, known to most of us simply as Mike. As his daughter, I stand before you with a heavy heart, but also with cherished memories of a man who was easy-going and always went with the flow. My earliest memory of Dad is one that perfectly encapsulates who he was. I can still picture him sitting at the computer, engrossed in a game of solitaire, with the gentle twang of country music playing in the background. It was a scene of contentment and simplicity, two qualities that defined Mike throughout his life. Although our relationship became distant over time, I'll always treasure the close bond we shared when I was a little girl. Those early years were filled with moments that shaped me and left an indelible mark on my heart. He had a unique ability to take life as it came, adapting to circumstances with a ease. While Mike may have been known for his laid-back demeanor, there was nothing casual about the love he had for his family. His daughters and brothers were the cornerstones of his life, the people who brought him the most joy and for whom he cared most deeply. As we bid farewell to Mike, let us remember him not with sadness, but with the same easy spirit he embodied. Let us celebrate the simple pleasures he enjoyed, the love he had for his family, and the peaceful approach he took to life's challenges. Mike, Dad, you will be deeply missed, but the lessons of your easygoing nature will live on in all of us. May you rest in peace, with country music playing softly in the background, just the way you liked it.
