Tribute

In Loving Memory of our mom, Nellie. July 16, 1954 – September 10, 2025. Nellie was a force of nature — she was strong in spirit, with a heart that gave endlessly, and a soul rooted in love. She built a life with her daughters, filled with unspoken courage and unwavering devotion to family. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend — Nellie loved fiercely, and her presence was a gift to all who knew her. She is reunited now with those who went before, and her light lives on in the hearts of those she left behind. Her legacy it is lived, in every act of kindness, and every word spoken in love, every moment of quiet strength we carry forward in remembrance.

She is survived by her sister, MaryLou DeGennaro; her three daughters: Theresa Maricle, Jackie Ecker, and Clarice Hardy; her beloved sons-in-law: James Nutt, Randy Ecker, and Tyler Hardy; and her proud grandchildren: Blaise, Tazmen, Trevor, Deanna, Savannah, Christopher, and Tristen. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to three beloved great-grandchildren, and is fondly remembered by various cousins, nieces, and nephews. Nellie was preceded in death by her father, Blaine Evans; mother, Mary Frances Sykes; brothers Blaine Evans, Joseph Evans, Paul Evans, John Evans, Milo Evans and Steven Gilbert; sister Chloie Fraley; and her granddaughter, Karina Evans.
