Our father’s life is a legacy of love. Odom Earl Jacobs Sr, will always be remembered as an extremely generous man when it came to love. He was a man who was loved, known, and deeply important to his enormous family. Odom's life philosophy was "a great time never missed me". Odom lived up to this mantra everyday by spreading love and joy everywhere he went. Odom was a father, a personable presence, and a person who would befriend a stranger, feed the hungry and labor for the need. His dignity, and compassion saved a single mother, guided fatherless sons and befriended loneliness to hope. He had a life filled with moments that mattered, moments that may seem small to others but meant everything to those who loved him. In his final days, his children sat and stood by his side, speaking to him, loving him, and making sure he was not alone. Even when his body was failing, love remained. That love did not leave him, and it does not leave now. His passing is not just a moment, it is a reminder of how deeply people can love, how much care matters, and how important it is to truly see one another. Odom’s life leaves behind a legacy carried by those who continue to speak his name, remember him, and honor him. Through his donation, he continues to give of himself helping others, advancing knowledge, and becoming part of something that may bring healing to people he will never meet. That, too, is part of his legacy. He is remembered. He is loved. And he will never be forgotten.

Odom Earl Jacobs Sr. leaves behind a loving family and cherished memories that will continue through generations. He is survived by his children: Tammieka Jones, Ulysa Muirhead, Tiphany Richardson, and Odom Jacobs Jr. He is also survived by his sister, Cynthia Byrd, and his brother, Woodrow Wilson. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Luellen Gadson; his sisters, Florinita Smith, Lena Mae Golphin, and Wanda Ann Gadson; and his brother, Benjamin Gadson. Odom will be remembered for the love he shared with his family, the strength he carried throughout his life, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him and now mourn his passing.
