A LOVING SOUL. Olajuwon was a loving soul who genuinely cared for others. Even when he was walking through difficult times of his own, he still showed up with kindness, compassion, and love for the people around him. Olajuwon was a proud 2007 graduate of Robeson High School in Chicago, Illinois. During his time at Robeson, he was known for his love of basketball and for his warm, outgoing spirit and friendship with others. Following graduation, Olajuwon honorably served his country in the United States Navy, where he served as a Captain's Clerk. He received an Honorable Discharge for his service, and he was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Only God knows why Olaiuwon had to leave us so soon, and our hearts are left with questions that only Heaven can answer. While we may not understand, we can hold onto the love he gave so freely. Above all, Olajuwon loved his sons. He spoke about them often, with pride and with tenderness. He always expressed how much he wanted to do more for them, to give them more, to be more for them. That desire came from a place of deep, sincere love - the kind of love a father carries in his heart always. Though his time here was far too short, his caring spirit, his loving heart, and his love for his boys will live on in everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
