Tribute

Pat was born on October 5, 1945, in Muskegon, Michigan, the only child of her beloved parents, Don and Marian Hagstrom, who preceded her in death. She passed away peacefully in Sarasota, Florida, on May 8, 2025, after living through a ten-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. After high school and some college, Pat was a flight attendant before transitioning into fashion sales. After being a stay-at-home mom for eight years, she returned to the workforce in administrative positions, settling into the latter part of her career working in drug and alcohol rehabilitation. She also became a fierce advocate for HIV/AIDS treatment and research in her community. At the start of her retirement, she enjoyed being a companion for the elderly. Pat enjoyed travelling in the fall to see the beautiful changes of color, walking on the beach and collecting shells, and caring for her cherished cats.

Friends & Family

Pat is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Chip Rice of Jasper, Georgia, and her three grandchildren: Savanah and Sierrah Rice of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mitchell Rice of Athens, Georgia. She is also survived by the staff of Savannah Grand of Sarasota, who became her family away from family in her final years.
