Tribute
My dad. He wasn't perfect (thank goodness!) but he was always there for us; Mom, me sister. He was fun-loving and adventurous, learning to ski and roller blade in what I thought of as his "later" years (he got younger as I got older!). And detail-oriented, my dad! He kept track of every oil change and maintenance activity, even for his riding lawn mower. The buyer of that old mower was impressed by all the labels attached to that mower for every oil change he did (he loved his label gun)! Retiring at the ripe old age of 45 (I so wanted to follow in his footsteps!), Dad kept busy volunteering for security at the Fairgrounds, learning craps to work Casino Nights and playing a little golf, which he also learned later in life. He was such a social butterfly- There were no strangers in his life, just folks he hadn't met yet. I am sure that now he is busy on the other side renewing old friendships.
