Richard Earl Manrod 8/4/36 passed away peacefully in his sleep October 10, 2022, from Congestive Heart Failure. He was the respected owner of Manrod Electric, Inc. from 1964 – 1999. He was president of the Northern Illinois Chapter of Electrical Contractors for 12 years. Richard was proud to have had some of the same customers for over 30 years. He attributed much of his success to the professionalism of his electricians. He moved to Chandler AZ in 1999 where he was employed by McCormick Systems as an Instructor retiring at 82. He traveled all over the country teaching electrical contractors how to estimate on the computer. Richard was a self-taught engineer, an accomplished builder. He was a member of the Academy of Electrical Contractors. Richard was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grand father. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis Mae Manrod, daughter, P. Mary Manrod, Grandson, Michael Manrod, great grandchildren; Danielle Manrod, Emily Manrod, Myles Manrod, Eli Gentry, and Luna Gentry. His family thanks all of you who contacted him during his illness. He greatly enjoyed the memories. Celebration of life will be held later as he donated his body to science.
