Tribute

Robert or Kenny as he preferred to be called worked for the Flamingo casino for 25 years as a banquets bartender before retiring. He loved people, talking to people was his favorite thing to do anywhere any place for any amount of time. Before the Flamingo he worked for the government as a spook, they had him behind enemy lines in covert operations either as an assassin hunting drug lords or intelligence gathering. Most of which he was not allowed to talk about. He loved and fought for America and was very loyal to the government. He has taken all those stories to his grave. The one story he did tell me, was when he quit. He had Pol Pot, in his crosshair. Pol Pot was the leader of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. Under his regime, there was a horrific genocide in the 1970s, with millions of people killed or displaced. It’s a really dark chapter in history. He had him in his crosshairs, and even though he knew he would die he was willing to take him out and he was told to stand down, he argued and his commanders told him to stand down. So after that he didn’t want to do it anymore. He lived till the ripe old age of 83. Which was lucky for the rest of us that knew and loved him.
