Tribute

Rodney Bernard Forest, a beloved brother, uncle, veteran, and artist, passed away Sunday, May 3. He was 67. Born in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Willie Mae Davis and Kermit Lee Forest, Rodney served with honor in the United States Air Force before embarking on a career as a traveling union electrician. A gifted self-taught artist, Rodney spent his later years sharing his artistic talents with fellow veterans. His creative spirit lives on through a commissioned mural in Bridgeport dedicated to first responders, featured work in a national veterans' calendar, and the countless individuals he touched with his artistry. An avid sports enthusiast, Rodney was a lifelong, devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and known for his high-end western drip. As the oldest, Rodney was the rock of his siblings, leading with dignity and a generous heart. He is survived by his sisters, Renee Boston, Roxanne Reeder, Karen Forest, and Katrina Jones; his brother, Keith Forest; his dearest niece, Jasmine Renee Forest; and a large, loving circle of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be remembered for his profound kindness, generosity, and his unwavering love and support for his family. A celebration of life to be announced.
