Tribute

Born on November 29, 1958, Roy David Pinckard graduated from La Puente High School in 1976, when he gained the honor of an Eagle Scout. He served in Army Intelligence and was stationed in Germany as a German Language Radio Intercept Analyst from 1976 – 1980. He received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University, Fullerton in 1985. He served with distinction as a police officer for the Ontario Police Department from 1980 to 1985. His three children Alicia, Vincent, and Jennifer share that he was an amazing dad. He gave his kids unforgettable memories from annual fishing trips to June Lake, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Mount Rushmore, cruises to Alaska, Mexico and Bahamas to Niagara Falls, Hawaii, where they went white water rafting (where he almost drowned, giving the family an unforgettable story to share with their kids!) and so much more. He taught his children to try everything and do everything in life, not to be afraid because you may only get one chance to do it, and not to live with the regret of missed opportunities. Roy and Peggy dated in high school, but lost touch after he graduated. As he traveled the world in the Army, he married and had a family, became a police officer, and then a traffic violator’s school owner. Eventually, they would find each other again and marry in 2009. They loved cruising together and traveled to the Mexican Riviera, Alaska, the Caribbean Islands, and Victoria, BC. They would take epic road trips, visiting lighthouses along the West Coast, and visiting Santa Barbara, the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Sedona, Arizona. Roy maintained his traffic violator online schools and continued to serve as a consultant to Traffic Violator School owners while serving the public at Motel 6 since 2015. Roy finally found peace from his intrepid spirit's journey on May 3rd at 8:18 pm. Everyone who helped him along the way shared what a great guy he was, friendly, humorous, and gracious in every encounter. He will be missed by his wife, Peggy Huber, by his children Alicia, Vincent, and Jennifer, grandchildren Donny, Alyssa, and Little Vincent, his siblings Joe, Therese, Chenta, and Sandy, his fellow Homeowner Association board members, and Traffic School Owners Association board members where he served as president for more than 20 years, and many, many friends.
