Sheila John O’Meara Thayer (affectionately known as “She-She”), of Bull Valley, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, surrounded by some of the most important people in her life. Devoted wife of the late Michael Douglas Thayer, beloved mother of Christian Edward Wellington Mack and the late Bradford Parker Mack Jr., daughter of the late E. Warren O’Meara Jr. and the late Joan O’Meara Marcus, and cherished sister of seven siblings. Extraordinary aunt to 17 nieces and nephews, gifted contract designer, incomparable storyteller, world traveler, timeless fashionista, and loyal friend and confidant who will be forever missed. Sheila’s heart was on Maui, Hawaii, where she lived for 17 years. She moved to Maui in 1998 with her sister Siobhan and brother-in-law Clyde Engle. Sheila had a singular and giving heart and devoted the second half of her life to her sister, serving as a second mother to her six children. Sheila relocated to Illinois in 2015 and lived her final years surrounded by her loved ones, enjoying her favorite Korean soap operas, and bringing joy to countless family members and friends. Sheila is now reunited in heaven with her son Parker and her sister and best friend Siobhan, who predeceased her by just five days. Together forever, She-She. Always in our hearts.
